Congrats on making it through your first month of nursing school. Each week seems to progressively get harder as more assignments are assigned each week. The master calendar has been a life saver for me. The calendar allows me to see what assignments are due and upcoming tests. I have to be very efficient with my time. I work 40 hours a week, between two jobs. I am a secretary for a construction company in Riverside and a RA on campus. Due to working I have to make time for my classes, homework, studying, family, and social life.
In order for me to keep it all together, every Monday I sit down at my computer and create an excel sheet of all the things I have going on that week. I only do one week at a time or else it overwhelms me. I find that last minute distractions tend to pop up. This allows me to see what free time I have and to schedule time for homework and studying. It also gives me hope, to see a visual of what I can do in that week.
As for remembering assignments I try (key word try) to do all the assignments a week early. This allows time for studying for test and quizzes. I highlight the assignments I have finished on my master calendar so I can see what is done. However, the most helpful thing for me so far has been time management by scheduling my time efficiently. I find its not wise to just schedule your time and hang it on your wall, you have to abide by it, and say no to those small but timely distractions.
I added an example of how I set up my excel sheet to create my weekly schedule.
