Hi everyone,
So the past few weeks have been especially draining on me. As some of you know my mom has stage IV breast cancer. A few weeks ago my boyfriend's mom was diagnosed with breast cancer as well. Following this I lost my grandma yesterday to cancer. Midterms have been the last thing on my mind. However through talking with the Lord and my mentors. I have been able to compartmentalize all these emotions. The thing I realized is that when you go to nursing school everyone says you have no social life. However that is far from true. Everyone has lives outside of school because of family, friends, and your home life.
It is important to recognize these outside influences and find relaxation in them or away from them. I have found my relaxation in taking the time to go get a pedicure or a see a movie with friends. Through all these trials I realize it is important to be steadfast with your faith and be open with telling people whats going on in your life. Finding what you find relaxes you is important for your own personal mental life. God took a day of rest after creating the world. It is important as we enter this stressful career we make good habitats in relaxing so we do not get ran down. I hope this inspires you to think of how your rest and whether or not it is helpful for you.
